Bardo Loops

Gabriel Abrantes

Join us in the discovery of Gabriel Abrantes' Bardo Loops, the artist’s most recent video installation, commissioned by CAM Gulbenkian in Lisbon.

Take an in-depth look at the scriptwriting and animation work behind the four videos that make up the installation—which blend wry, ironic humor, with overt melodrama—, featuring ghosts in the midsts of arguments, reconciliations, or singing laments. Inside Abrantes’ studio, learn more about the origin of these ghosts and the spaces they inhabit, following the artist’s practice from the digital and animation work to the traditional oil techniques.

‘Bardo Loops’ is on view at ‘Linha de Maré. Coleção do CAM.’ until May 11th 2026.
