Galeria Francisco Fino is pleased to share Vonna-Michell’s House, Tris Vonna-Michell’s solo exhibition at Badischer Kunstverein, bringing together new, existing and reconfigured works from the artist’s twenty year practice.
Opening September 19th at 7 PM, the exhibition curated by Andrew Hunt and Anja Casser interweaves Tris Vonna-Michell’s work, ranging from performance, sound poetry, printed matter, sculpture, photography and film, with his father Ed Vonna-Michell’s archive of photographic and publishing projects.
In concrete terms, Vonna-Michell’s House comprises several interconnected rooms that include Ed Vonna- Michell’s work in the context of Tris Vonna-Michell’s archive and characteristic performative, sculptural, filmic installations. The result is a narrative – one that is both historically anchored and activated in contemporary terms – that consists of multi-generational aspects of sound poetry, artistic publishing, and countercultural moments.
