E agora para onde vou?, Vasco Araújo’s solo exhibition curated by Iñaki Martínez Antelo, can be visited until July 21st at Fundación DIDAC, Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
‘The central piece in this exhibition is the work ‘E agora para onde vou?’ (And now where am I going?), 2020, in which the artist shows us sixteen books of watercolors representing the sixteen cardinal points of the Rosa dos Ventos, which is used in navigation. The piece is an introspective and psychological reflection on a great voyage through all the seas and oceans without ever setting foot on dry land, like a psychological journey adrift. These watercolors are accompanied by texts by the artist based on the diaries of Fernão Magalhães—who made the first navigation from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean—, and The Book of Disquite by Fernando Pessoa.’
