We’re pleased to share Animistic Glass: multidimensional visions, a solo exhibition by Igor Jesus at Galeria Fundação Amélia de Mello, curated by Luísa Santos.
Opening 15 May at 6 PM, the exhibition presents the series Animistic Glass (2024) which can be understood in two interconnected dimensions. If we direct our attention to the undulating shapes that travel from one side of the sheet of photographic images to the other, we are led to believe that the objects represented in the images are in sort of a liquid state. ‘Animistic Glass’ grants us access to an alternative cosmography to those that we systematically validate as the real and the truth. Above all, it invites us to adopt a more flexible approach, closer to a liquid way, which might be a more apt course of action to understand a world in constant transformation.
