“Pedro Paiva's solo exhibition takes Wolfgang Borchert's play Draußen vor der Tür (The Man Outside) and translates it into different media. The drama deals with soldier Beckmann's tireless search for answers, returning to his homeland after the war, where he finds nothing but indifference and incomprehension from those around him. Pedro Paiva collects this play from the rubble, which seems to have been forgotten in Portugal, with only one translation made in 1965 and never reprinted.”
