Babuíno Talismã

Galeria Francisco Fino is pleased to share the opening of Babuíno Talismã, a solo exhibition by Daniela Ângelo, curated by Bernardo José de Souza. Presented by Galerias Municipais, the exhibition opens 11 January at Galeria da Boavista, from 6 PM to 9 PM.

"At once solid and diaphanous, totemic and talismanic, Daniela Ângelo's images have the ability to open passages between temporalities and worlds as diverse as they are distant from each other. They are sculptural bodies engraved in the two-dimensional emulsion of celluloid – beings and artefacts whose natures and origins have been blurred by the artist's lens in order to obliterate the taxonomic impetus that governs Western epistemologies."  Read full text
