We’re pleased to share José Pedro Cortes’ solo exhibition Aqui e em todo o lado, opening January 30th at Brotéria.

 

One of the images from José Pedro Cortes' archive shows the figure of the neophyte (the one who has just been baptized), opening up a space for reflection on places of impermanence and the tension of the body which, in conflict, experiences a transition.

In Aqui e em todo o lado, a narrative is drawn that points to states of meditation, resistance and surrender, as non-passive actions that are difficult to translate visibly.
