We’re pleased to share José Pedro Cortes’ solo exhibition Aqui e em todo o lado, opening January 30th at 6 PM, at Brotéria.
José Pedro Cortes has been developing his work in photography, which is characterized by his constant interest in observing the world around him. His images, manufactured or captured by instinct, are subjective and political, and are part of a realist tradition that accepts the material and pictorial potential of everyday life as a mirror of the contemporary world. In the solo show Aqui e em todo o lado, Cortes shows us a set of images that reflect on a time of uncertainty and change. The relationship between the human body and nature, and especially water, is a constant theme in the exhibition, whose ideas of immersion and suspension create a sense of seduction, but also of anxiety.
